I was thrilled to recently read reporter Doug Schmidt’s excellent article. The story and vivid photos conveyed the value of hands-on music education and the intense collaboration required to bring professional musicians into classrooms.

Thank you for highlighting the String Project and expert Windsor Symphony Orchestra musicians such as violinist Michele Dumoulin and school music consultant Dr. Bernadette Berthelotte (also a WSO French Horn player) who help ensure these life-changing joyful experiences continue in Windsor.

The headlines were great, too, and captured the emotional impact of the music while avoiding narrow style labels.

Congratulations to the WSO, school educators and administrators, plus the whole community for supporting transformative music education in Windsor area schools.

And a cheer for all students starting music this year.
