Lewisham housing association surprises 400 people with Santa visit

A housing association in Lewisham has surprised 400 of its residents with a free visit from Father Christmas.
Phoenix, a Lewisham based housing association surprised over 400 residents with a visit from Father Christmas with their “Meet Santa” tour.
The event began touring on December 6, beginning at Bellingham Leisure Centre and is set to finish at The Green Man December 15, 2022.
A spokesperson for Phoenix said that these events have provided free fun for children and their families in the community during a challenging time of year.
These free Santa visits for Phoenix residents allowed children to post letters to the North Pole and receive an early Christmas stocking from the elves.
A spokesperson for Phoenix said these events are an opportunity for residents to meet other neighbours and to get more involved with their landlord.
Phoenix is set to host further events in the new year including an event to mark International Women’s Day in March.
Phoenix Community Housing Chief Executive, Denise Fowler said: “I’m so pleased that we’ve been able to provide some free festive fun for families.
“This time of year will be particularly challenging for many in our community and it’s vital that we do all we can to support our residents.
“I hope all the little ones enjoy seeing Santa and his elves.”
