Two charged over failed armed robbery

Two Gosnells men accused of carrying out a failed armed robbery on a suburban street in Kelmscott have been charged.

It happened about 7.15am on Good Friday at the intersection of Banyard Avenue and Camillo Road.

Police say the men — one allegedly armed with a gun — were travelling in a silver coloured 2005 Ford Falcon sedan when they pulled up in front of a man in his 30s, who was standing at the intersection.

It is alleged one of the men then confronted the victim, threatening him with the gun, before a struggle broke out.

The victim received a cut to his head, before the offenders spotted a patrolling police car and fled.

A 44-year-old man and a 25-year-old man have been charged with attempted aggravated armed robbery. The 25-year-old was also charged with possessing an unlicensed firearm.

The men are due to face Perth Magistrates court later this month.

Anyone who saw or has dash-cam vision of the silver Ford Falcon with WA registration 1EWY015 in the Gosnells and Kelmscott areas between 7am and 10.15am on Friday, 2 April is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
