Perth man ‘building WWII submachine gun at home’: Cops

Police have seized a staggering haul of guns and ammunition from a Willetton home this week.

A 72-year-old man is now facing serious charges as a result.

Cannington Detectives made the discovery on Wednesday after raiding the man’s Karel Avenue home.

Police will allege a search of the man’s property uncovered nine rifles and approximately 5000 rounds of multi-caliber ammunition.

Although the guns were licensed, police have seized the huge cache of weapons and ammunition because they will allege the man was in the midst of manufacturing a WWII submachine gun and had the equipment to do so.
