An alleged drunk driver is lucky to have escaped serious injury after crashing into a parked car in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police said a white Ford Falcon utility — driven by a 31-year-old man — was travelling east on High Street in Fremantle, when it ploughed into the back of a white Volkswagen Golf parked on the verge at the front of a house about 1am.
The impact of the crash was so strong it forced the Golf into a neighbouring brick wall causing “extensive damage”, according to police.
Officers attended the scene and claim the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
No injuries were reported, and all occupants of the house made it out without injury.
He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date on the offence of exceed 0.08g alcohol per 100ml of blood.
