Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating the death of a man who died Tuesday after being arrested by London police Monday.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU), which investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault, said London police arrested a 34-year-old man Monday afternoon for failing to comply with conditions.
The man was taken to London Police Service headquarters where he was processed and moved to a cell.
According to the SIU, shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday the man told officers he was not feeling well. Medical services were called and transported the man to hospital where he died.
Two investigators and one forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.
