Flat in disused block destroyed by Charlton fire
At 3.09am on Sunday (February 5) fire engines and 25 firefighters were called to the scene of the flat fire on Mayron Grove.
The four-storey block was disused and no injuries were reported.
The fire was under control by 5.25am and was attended by crews from East Greenwich, Plumstead and Eltham fire stations.
London Fire Brigade say that the fire is believed to have been accidental and is being recorded as “undetermined”.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a flat on Maryon Grove in Charlton on Sunday (February 5).
“A four-roomed flat on the third floor of the disused four-storey block was destroyed by fire.
“There were no reports of any injuries.
“The Brigade was called at 0309 and the fire was under control by 0525. Crews from East Greenwich, Plumstead and Eltham fire stations attended the scene.
“The fire is believed to have been accidental and the cause has been recorded as undetermined”.
