“ADVERSE weather” conditions off Scotland’s west coast mean some Caledonian MacBrayne ferry services will be cancelled or face delays, the transport operator has warned.
Strong winds and heavy rain around coastal areas of the north-west Highlands led to CalMac cancelling sailings between Mallaig and Armadale on Skye.
If weather conditions continue into tomorrow, the operator said sailings may be disrupted or cancelled at short notice.
CalMac warned that services between Mallaig and the Small Isles could also be disrupted or cancelled tomorrow.
Meanwhile, other services are disrupted after MV Loch Shira collided with the seabed, causing damage to the ferry and putting it out of action.
The incident means all services between Tarbert and Portvadie are cancelled today.
An inspection is expected to be carried out today to establish whether Loch Shira can return.
