Bakerloo and Overground north London trains cancelled for NINE days for rail upgrades

Starting from this Saturday (February 11) the Bakerloo line between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone and the London Overground between Euston and Watford Junction will be closed.

The closure is likely to disrupt transport plans within north London as the works continue until Sunday next week (February 19).

During the week-long closure, a regular four to five minute service will continue to run on the Bakerloo line between Elephant & Castle and Queen’s Park.

But this will close nine stations on the Bakerloo line within Brent and Harrow and many stations will not run the Overground between Watford, Harrow, Brent and South Hampstead.

Similar closures were in place in December as work took place over a 20-mile stretch in north London, which closed several stations.

The nine-day closure will continue the improvements seen last year to remaining stations, track and line-side equipment.

Upgrades include 6,000 modern concrete sleepers installed, slight station makeovers, cable replacements and power supply improvements.
