Spanish PM warns UN of ‘threatened’ world democracy

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said Wednesday before the United Nations General Assembly that democracy in the world is being threatened and asked the international community to protect it and confront extremism and those who call for hatred.

Sanchez spoke at the opening of the 76th assembly after meeting Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and made two commitments the prime minister had already talked about.
