Two people are dead after gunfire erupted throughout Peel Region on Wednesday.
The first fatal incident happened Wednesday afternoon in Brampton.
Police in Peel Region were called to a home in the area of Countryside Dr. and Airport Rd. at about 4:47 p.m. Police originally said one person had been shot and another had sustained a “gunshot related injury” but investigators later confirmed both people had been shot.
A male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said there were believed to be three suspects.
Within the same hour on Wednesday, a vehicle was on fire in the area of Grenoble Blvd. and Williams Pkwy. No one was inside the vehicle and police believe this was related to the earlier shooting.

A second fatal incident took place on Wednesday night in Mississauga, where police say a male victim is dead following a shooting in the area of Mid-Way Blvd. and Columbus Rd.
Police responded to the scene after reports one victim had been shot. A vehicle was seen fleeing the area, but no vehicle description was given.
