Paige Spiranac didn’t just capture the Sexiest Woman Alive title this year, she is also the most followed golfer on Instagram.
The femme fatale of the fairway pipped Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson and other links luminaries to capture top prize from Golf Magic.
With more than three million Instagram followers, Spiranac, 29, shot to fame using a combination of cheesecake and golf savvy on social media and on her podcast.
On Friday, she quipped of her success: “This just in. Men like golf and boobs.”
A former professional golfer herself, Spiranac remains passionate about the sport and has transformed herself from duffer to social media dynamo. She shares photos and videos of her adventures to her throng of fans.
But recently, the light-hearted golfer has extended her purview beyond the golf course with social issues like body image. In September, she said trolls slammed her about her weight and asked fans to share their experiences,
“Whenever I just have this gut feeling that I need to say something, I do. I never overthink it, I never second-guess myself. With the body-shaming issue, I felt really sad and icky about it and I knew I had to say something and I’m so happy that I did,” Spiranac told the New York Post in September.
“The feedback was incredible, it was the most feedback I’ve ever received on a Story.”
She added that her community of supporters helped get her through it.
“I’ve built so much trust with my followers that they feel really comfortable opening up to me and it’s really been a positive community. I’m happy that I have them, and I think, hopefully, that they’re happy that they have someone they can talk to as well,” she said.
